VW Scirocco Race Car
Summer 2016. We were tasked with re-building Tony Lanfranchi's VW Scirocco race car from the 1980s.
A very good early bodyshell was procured and sent off to be paint stripped at EnviroStrip in Tamworth. Once it had been through their process it was delivered to the tube benders, where a rollcage was designed and bent. The hard work then started....Autumn 2016, the shell fabrication was completed, the satin black and white paint was applied, and the bodyshell was collected by the customer to be built up over the winter months. Many of the original parts will be used in the rebuild; including the suspension, brakes, instruments etc. the original shell was pensioned off in the 90s due to having an alloy roll cage. Keep your eyes peeled for it at a race track near you.
