Hillman Imps
This Hillman Imp coupé was delivered to us in a partially stripped and shot blasted state. There was evidence of a side impact at some point in its life, we decided it would be prudent to take it for a full paint strip to accurately assess the damage. The plan was to turn into a Tarmac rally car, with period modifications and a weld in MSA roll cage.
After the car returned from the paint strippers it was discovered it had substantial side impact damage and all over corrosion. Unfortunately there was not a suitable budget in place to continue with the work. It was sadly returned to its owner.
There are further Hillman Imp projects in the pipeline. |
This little chap was purchased by one of our existing customers in 2019; to one day be returned to its former glory. Updates will be published once work commences.
This rally Imp arrived with us in need of a repaint and building up into a works replica rally car, ALN 650H . Once it has been stripped of its mechanicals we will ship it off to Surface Processing Limited for paint stripping.
After its return from the acid dippers we could then get to work rectifying some of the issues mentioned by the owner and making a few improvements along the way.
End of January 2021, ready for paint.
May 2021 all painted and looking good. Thanks Graham, top job.
