Ford Prefect E493A
This 1950s sidevalve engined Ford Prefect came to us for a mechanical recommission after being laid up in storage for a number of years.
We started out by removing the fuel and cooling systems for a clean and inspection.
The fuel tank was deemed too far gone to be worth salvaging, a new bespoke aluminium item was commisioned from Compbrake Motorsport.
The Zenith carb was rebuilt with a new spindle and gaskets, the fuel pump was also rebuilt with E10 fuel compatible internals, thank you to the chaps at the Carburettor Hospital
A new 6V battery was installed along with new ignition components.
Hopefully another 70 years of trouble free motoring lies ahead!
